As one of the most prominent and successful serial entrepreneurs in Eastern Europe, Radu Georgescu founded Gecad in 1992. He then went on to lead the creation of RAV Antivirus, a security technology platform acquired by Microsoft in 2003. In 2010, Radu exited from this second company, GECAD ePayment, leading provider of integrated eCommerce solutions on the Romanian market, acquired by Naspers. Californian based private-equity firm Francisco Partners acquired Avangate in 2013, marking GECAD’s third international exit.
