  • Terms and Conditions

    These terms and conditions („T&C”) govern the relation between organisers of the How to Web Conference in Bucharest, Romania („HTW” and „the Conference” respectively) and you as an attendant of HTW.

    You become an attendant of HTW as a result of one of the following actions:

    In any of the above cases, you agree to be bound by the T&C, which may be amended by HTW at any moment, with or without prior notice to the attendants or the general public. Such an agreement will be requested of you at the time you will confirm your attendance at the Conference.

     

           1. CONFERENCE ORGANIZER

    HTW means the legal entity known as How to Web Media SRL, a Romanian-based and registered limited liability company. The Conference means the tech & innovation event hosted annually in Bucharest, Romania, and organised by HTW.

           2. CONSENTING TO THE T&C

    By becoming an attendant to the Conference, you give your consent for HTW and its affiliates and/or subsidiaries to collect, process and use your Personal Data for any and all of the Purposes of your attendance at the Conference.

    Under this section 2 of the T&C, “Personal Data” refers to first name, last name, company name & position, e-mail address, phone number, gender, photograph, elements of your bio, social media handles, credit/debit card information and any other information you may be requested to provide to HTW in connection with your attendance at the Conference. „Purpose” means marketing purposes, as well as during the Conference and before/after each of its editions, both online and offline, as the case may be, conducted by HTW, its affiliates, collaborators and partners; Conference registration purposes; conducting online surveys and other types of online marketing campaigns, on media such as social media networks; and any other purposes as provided by HTW in these T&C.

    You may also be asked to give your consent for HTW and its affiliates and/or subsidiaries to collect, process and use your Personal Data for any and all of the Purposes of your attendance at the Conference, even if you are not an attendant to the Conference, but come into contact with HTW in connection to the promotion of the Conference, either online (through any means accesible via Internet) or offline. In such cases, all the provisions in these T&C are applicable to you.

    If, for any reason,  you do not wish your Personal Data to be collected and/or processed according to these T&C, or if you want to find out what Personal Data HTW has on record about you, please email [email protected]. Requests sent in any other format will not be taken into consideration. After receiving a request, HTW will process its contents within 30 calendar days since the receipt.

           3. TICKETS FOR THE CONFERENCE

    Depending on the edition of the Conference, HTW may make available one or more type of electronic tickets, which may be purchased on the Conference’s website or in any other way made available by HTW. In general, any ticket purchased is nominal and non-transferrable, offering the right for one individual, unless otherwise stated, to take part at the entire or parts of the Conference. As an exception, HTW may allow a ticket purchaser to transfer the ticket to another individual, if the initial purchaser notifies with at least 7 days before the Conference of the desired transfer.

    Refunds of ticket prices are available if sent to HTW with at least 14 calendar days before the Conference takes place. In order to ask for refund, please send a written request at [email protected]. If, for any reason, the Conference is annuled, HTW may reimburse the price of the ticket to the attendant. HTW is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration, cancellation or postponement of the Conference or any part of the Conference. HTW shall assume no liability whatsoever in the circumstances that the Conference or part of it is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of an event impracticable, illegal or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to: war, fire, labour strike, extreme weather or other emergency.

           4. COSTS OF THE CONFERENCE

    Any attendant of the Conference is aware that HTW organises the Conference using a limited budget and, as a result, it cannot offer accomodation and/or travel aid or reimbursement. As an exception, some or all of the speakers and/or mentors taking part in the Conference may benefit from HTW covering or reimbursing expenses related to accomodation and/or travel.

           5. FACILITIES AT THE CONFERENCE

    To the extent possible, HTW will grant attendants to the Conference access to one or more of the following facilities (except any kind of facilities that the Conference venue may have available): wireless Internet; food and drinks; booths and/or exhibitions spaces; technical infrastructure required for the set-up of the stage. You, as an attendant, are aware that some or all of the facilities mentioned above are not the property of HTW, and that third-parties are liable for any malfunctioning of such facilities. To the extent any attendant feels that certain of his/her rights have been affected by the malfunctioning of such facilities, it may send a written notice to [email protected], and HTW will forward the notice to the third-party who is deemed responsible for such malfunctioning.

    Information we receive from credit reference and fraud detection agencies or other third parties we may use to verify your information. We may ask you to complete surveys for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.

           6. CHANGES TO THE T&C

    HTW reserves the right to modify these T&C at any time; the most recent version of the T&C will always be available on the Conference’s website.

           7. INDEMNITY

    You, as an attendant, agree to be fully responsible for (and fully indemnify us against) all claims, liability, damages, losses, costs and expenses, including legal fees, suffered by HTW and arising out of any breach of the terms by you or any other liabilities incurred by HTW arising out of your participation to the Conference, in part or in full.

           8. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

    You, as an attendant, acknowledge and agree that all copyright, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights in all material or content in connection with the Conference shall remain at all times owned by HTW or third-party which have licensed such rights to HTW.
