Silviu Homoceanu is the Founder and CTO of Deltia.ai, a Berlin-based AI-enabled SaaS startup focused on optimizing manual assembly processes in factories using artificial intelligence and computer vision technology.
With a PhD in machine learning and extensive expertise in AI, Silviu leads the company’s technological innovations to digitize industrial offline processes for enhanced operational efficiency.
Before founding Deltia.ai, Silviu spent eight years in the R&D division of the Volkswagen Group, responsible for the software stack of the autonomous driving unit. He also co-founded a video-analytics startup in the security industry.
Deltia.ai’s technology collects real-time data through video cameras and optical sensors installed on factory floors, analyzing key manufacturing metrics such as cycle times, value stream mapping, walking routes, and non-value-added activities. This insight aids continuous improvement teams in making data-driven decisions and helps plant operations teams monitor processes, flag deviations, and improve overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). The startup’s solution has improved productivity by 10-30% and reduced training time by 20-50% for new factory workers.
The company places a strong emphasis on privacy, ensuring that its systems comply with European GDPR regulations and preserve worker anonymity.
Since its launch in 2022 by Silviu and co-founder Max Fischer, Deltia.ai has attracted over €6 million in venture capital funding, including investments from the Berlin-based Cavalry Ventures and the AI-focused Merantix fund.
Silviu’s vision is to address European macroeconomic challenges such as an aging workforce and reshoring production by using AI-driven technology to empower factory workers rather than replace them.
