It’s that time of year again! How to Web Conference 2024 is about to kick off, along with Spotlight, the most anticipated startup program and competition in Eastern Europe. 

This year, hundreds of ambitious startups from all across the region applied to participate in the ultimate early-stage showdown, but only the Top 40 have made the cut. These innovators, disruptors, and game-changers are now set to take center stage and compete for investment, exposure, and the title of Spotlight Winner.

Each of these 40 startups is vying for more than just bragging rights. They’re here to win big. This year’s grand prize is a whopping €350K syndicated investment from Startup Wise Guys, Underline Ventures, and Gapminder VC. Additionally, the winner automatically qualifies for the next Startup Wise Guys acceleration program.

They are creating a solution that is similar to ChatGPT for drone operators who need to analyze large volumes of complex data—with a simple prompt, users can find objects or patterns, count them, and see where they are, no matter the equipment, industry, or application.

Boatscribe is a boat rental comparison platform (metasearch) that helps travellers and sailors to compare and choose offers from multiple websites on one page. Like Skyscanner for flights Boatscribe collects and provides deals for the same boat from different websites at once in real-time.

🎯BrainTrip

BrainTrip is a vertical SaaS company for brain-wave devices. Because of a lack of scalable diagnostic solutions, brain disorders are severely underdiagnosed. They are solving this USD 4.5B problem by interpreting the brain’s electrical activity to build brain-diagnosis apps.

Founded in 2019, BrainTrip’s main innovation is the NeuroAI platform. The NeuroAI platform functions as an operating system for brain-wave devices such as EEGs and brain implants; it drastically simplifies the recording and analyzing of brain-wave data. It also enables the development of brain diagnosis apps, such as the BrainTrip Dementia Index (BDI).

ByteHide’s platform’s ease of integration, without requiring development changes or security expertise, empowers companies of all sizes to enhance their security posture and scale confidently. Caucurier.ro specializes in providing same-day and urgent delivery services for our clients, catering to both national and local needs. Businesses face critical challenges in timely and reliable delivery, especially for same-day and intercity shipments. Our goal is to enhance the B2B delivery process by linking users with trustworthy courier options, prioritizing both efficiency and transparency. 

🎯CREX Capital

CREX Capital provides a B2B impact finance solution tailored for real estate investors and borrowers, with a focus on social real estate assets such as schools, hospitals, and other essential infrastructure. Their target market addresses an annual refinancing demand exceeding €100 billion in this sector. Our clients are specifically seeking financing and investment opportunities within this asset class, and to meet that demand, we have developed a comprehensive, end-to-end financing infrastructure. 🎯Cyclops

Cyclops abstracts the complexities of Kubernetes under a customizable UI that can be tailored to any use case or organization. Instead of configuring and deploying software with the configuration files mentioned before, it is as simple as filling out a form. We officially launched our open-source MVP at the end of January of 2024 and have had over 14.000 Docker image pulls since then. Our open-source repository currently has over 2.300 GitHub stars and more than 45 contributors, with 130 people in our Discord. Cyclops got accepted into the CNCF landscape as well as the CIVO marketplace and can even be found in the official Helm documentation.

As a father of three, I (Nevio) faced the same challenges that many modern families encounter: balancing demanding work schedules with the need to engage and educate children in meaningful ways.

They are currently bootstrapped and have completed their platform’s initial development. Now they are in the early stages of sales, focusing on bringing our product to market and starting to gain traction.
