Roland Dennert is a Managing Partner at Cipio Partners based in Munich, responsible for new investments and portfolio management since 2005.
He began his private equity career at 3i Group, focusing on technology and mid-market buyout deals. Prior to 3i, Roland gained valuable experience as a strategy consultant at Roland Berger and The Boston Consulting Group in Paris, and he also worked as a robotics engineer with Hitachi Ltd. in Japan.
Roland holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management and a Master of Electrical Engineering from ETH Lausanne, Switzerland. With a strong technical and strategic background, he brings a deep understanding of technology investments and company growth.
He serves on the boards of several portfolio companies and brings a passion for working with entrepreneurs who demonstrate strong motivation and long-term vision. Roland focuses on emerging sectors such as fintech, AI, and quantum computing, emphasizing the importance of being a credible partner to entrepreneurs and providing valuable business guidance.
During How to Web Conference 2025, Roland will present “East to West – The State of the Digital Market in CEE.” His session will examine how the Central and Eastern European digital ecosystem is evolving, highlighting growth opportunities, structural challenges, and what these shifts mean for both investors and founders aiming to scale beyond the region.
