Co-Founder @ Inner Loom

Maria Whittaker is the Co-Founder of Inner Loom, a nonprofit organization based in Gothenburg that’s dedicated to strengthening young adults’ mental health and fostering a genuine sense of belonging.

Through uplifting programs, supportive meet-ups, and meaningful networking events, Inner Loom offers guidance, connection, and resilience-building opportunities—creating a safe space where it’s okay not to be okay.

Maria brings to the role a rich and diverse background across Tech, Finance, and the NGO sector. With experience in both large corporate environments and nimble startups, she specializes in leadership and talent development. She has designed and implemented impactful programs that elevate engagement, performance, and personal growth across organizational structures.

In her previous roles as a member of management teams, Maria has worked closely with executives—coaching leadership teams to foster high-performing, cohesive organizations. Her passion for making a social impact extends beyond corporate settings. She founded and operated a social enterprise in Kenya that supported female entrepreneurs in underserved communities, and has volunteered extensively with NGOs focusing on youth empowerment, mentorship, women’s support, and entrepreneurship training.

At How to Web Conference 2025, Maria will join the stage for “Mental Resilience: The Hidden Driver of Sustainable Performance.” She will explore how leadership development and community-driven programming can enhance resilience and belonging among young adults, and share practical strategies for creating inclusive programs that build supportive networks and nurture leadership potential.
