Summify just announced their recent acquisition by Twitter. The startup started in Romania, joined the Bootup Labs accelerator in Canada, moved to Vancouver and has gone through a couple of pivots. The final product, an application that creates a summary of the most important pieces of news shared on the user’s network, was launched in the summer of 2010. Considering that little time has passed since the release of the latest version of the application, the current acquisition seems to be technology and talent driven.
We reached out to Mircea Pasoi, Summify co-founder, to get a few more details. While he’s out celebrating the deal and we’re in waiting for his answers, check out what Mircea was saying about Summify in a previous interview, about half a year ago. Indeed, things are happening with quite the speed in startups world!
